Aaron came into our house with his steady enthusiasm and won over my, "reluctant" is putting it mildly, daughter. He quickly had a bead on her strengths and weaknesses and he applies that knowledge every week in novel situations. Every week he devises problems to lead my daughter through her difficulties with what she is doing in school. If she doesn't have any idea why she doesn't "get it," Aaron quickly figures it out and then leaves us a note on what they worked on and strategies for her to use. My daughter's grade in math went up two whole letters after just six visits with Aaron. But what matters to me is that her understanding is deeper; my daughter can now assess what a problem is asking, and how she might go about calculating the answer, and why that method represents the solution. Knowing math is one thing; being able to transfer that gift to another person is something magic. I see magic in my kitchen every Monday.
